Meet the Xigera team: The heartbeat of the Delta
Nearly every member of the Xigera team is proudly Batswana, firmly rooted in this land and united by a shared purpose: to care for our guests, one another, and the wilderness we call home.
Each individual brings deep knowledge, heartfelt pride, and an unwavering commitment to sharing the magic of the Delta.
We believe the future of sustainable hospitality lies in people. These are not just employees; they are stewards, storytellers, and standard-bearers of a more conscious kind of luxury. They are the soul of our lodge.
Here are just a few of the remarkable people shaping every Xigera journey:
Ben Seager
General Manager
With over two decades in luxury hospitality, I’m privileged to lead the exceptional team at Xigera. What drew me here was more than the Delta’s beauty, it was the lodge’s philosophy; a living tribute to heritage, people, and purpose. My role is to champion the team who brings this to life daily, and as a father, I’m proud to raise my sons where nature is their classroom, and respect is part of daily life.
Quest Maundo
Lodge Manager
I was born on the western edge of the Delta, not far from Xigera. The bush has always spoken to me, its rhythm, stillness, and wisdom. Helping lead a lodge built with such reverence for land and people is an honour. I saw Xigera rise from the ground, and today I live its values: hospitality without ego, care without compromise. With no fixed timetables, everything is shaped around our guests. “Your Safari, Your Story.” I ensure we live this ethos every day.
Dikeledi Kakambi
People & Culture Manager
My passion lies in people. With a background in HR and Industrial Relations, my great joy is nurturing growth, not just in careers, but in individuals. At Xigera, our team is our family. I help create pathways for each person to shine, lead, and grow with pride in their craft and culture. Our commitment to skills development isn’t just a policy, it’s a promise. We’re shaping Botswana’s hospitality future, one team member at a time.
Ikalaheng Mogalakwe
Head Safari Guide
Born in Maun, the Delta has been my classroom, my playground, and my inspiration. Guiding is not just what I do, it’s who I am. I see myself as part storyteller, part steward, and part translator of the wilderness. Whether drifting in a mokoro, tracking lions, or listening to birdsong at dawn, my goal is to share the awe, connection, and belonging we feel here every day. It is more than a job. It’s a calling to live and lead with purpose.
Karyn Ralekgobo
Front of House Manager
With more than a decade of experience in the hospitality and travel industry, I bring a unique blend of luxury service expertise, global perspective, and an authentic passion for people. Born and raised in Jwaneng, a small mining town in southern Botswana, I grew up far from the wilderness I now call home. Throughout my travels, I would often meet people who had visited Botswana and spoken with awe about the beauty of the Okavango Delta. Their stories stayed with me, sparking a deep curiosity and a longing to one day experience this extraordinary place for myself.
Ziyaad Brown
Executive Chef
Growing up in Khwai shaped my sense of place and welcome. I left government work to follow my heart into tourism, to share the stillness and wonder of the Delta with the world. At Xigera, every guest is a story waiting to unfold. I greet them not as visitors, but as family. Our farewells are often tearful, because the bond becomes strong. As I always say: “Re tlaa bonana”, we will see each other again.
Hendrick Jacks Jacobs
Executive Housekeeper
Born in Kanye Village, I trained in hospitality management in South Africa before returning to Botswana. At Xigera, my role is simple: to ensure every suite is immaculate and feels like a sanctuary. We care for each space with the same love and detail that went into designing it, from the coffee cups to the view from the bath. Every cushion, every flower matters. It’s not just about what guests see, but how we make them feel here; loved and appreciated.
Keitumetse 'Katie' Batisane
Food & Beverage Manager
From Sebina Village to Xigera, my journey has been driven by a passion for great service. Hospitality, for me, is about creating moments that linger. Whether crafting cocktails with local botanicals or selecting wines that echo the Delta’s spirit, every pour has purpose. At Xigera, I aim to make each meal a memory and each glass a story, curating dining experiences that feel unforgettable, from the first sip to the end smile.
