A New Year's Day arrival

The New Year brings new life, as a leopard gives birth to two baby cubs.

Xigera Safari Lodge

Whilst our team enjoyed some rest over the New Year, we experienced one of the most wonderful wildlife sightings to date. A female leopard took temporary residence in at the camp after giving birth to two baby cubs. The leopard gave birth in the wild and brought the cubs to the room, one at a time, a day apart. It seems she was concerned for their vulnerability and felt that the room was the best place to nurture them. Without intervention, the leopard has now moved back out of the camp and although we haven’t spotted her yet, we will be keeping a keen eye open for her and her cubs over the next few weeks.
