Oratile Gotshajwang, also know as Des, grew on a farm on the outskirt of Maun, Botswana, where he fostered a deep appreciation for the natural world. He studied a Guiding Basics at Botswana Wildlife Training Institute, where he learned the fundamentals of guiding before he developed his skills in the bush over the last 6 years by working with 3 different companies. Des begun his first guiding experience in the Delta, where he fell in love with Photography and began using a point and shoot camera.

Des left the Delta for Savuti, where he developed his photography skills, using a bridge camera and after 19 months in Savuti, he went to Linyanti where he begun using a DSLR Camera. In 2019, Des enrolled on a photographic course for 6 days, which opened his eyes more to the practise which has enabled him to help guests with camera settings and better angles for taking pictures.

Happy to return to Delta after 5 years of being in the north, Des is looking forward to taking guests around the area where the magic of safari started.
