Lodge Manager, Xigera Safari Lodge


Question Maundo is my official name, otherwise I am known as Quest. I am the third-born of the six siblings in my family. A countryside boy from the Gumare area of northwest Botswana, I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Public Administration from the University of Botswana in 2006. Due to my passion and love for conservation and wildlife, I decided to abandon my short Human Resources employment with the government, and I began my career as a Trainee Manager in the safari industry.

I rose through the ranks until I became a General Manager in one of the most beautiful and sought-after safari lodges in Botswana. Passion, vision and self-drive explains my success path, and along that path I developed skills for being a good host, teacher and a leader.

I’ve been given the rare opportunity to work in a property belonging to The Red Carnation Hotel Collection – Xigera Safari Lodge. This has opened my eyes to the international standards of travel, accommodation and food services of an unmatched standard. Seeing the new Xigera Safari Lodge being built from scratch under my watch is a great honour and I am looking forward to managing it for Red Carnation. I see this as a golden opportunity to serve and shine.
