Xigera, an ecological gem within the Okavango Delta, is built on the so-called ‘Paradise Island’, a haven among the wetlands in the wider Moremi Game Reserve.
The nearest major international airport is in Johannesburg, South Africa. From there, take a two-hour connecting flight to Botswana’s Maun airport, and from there it’s a very short, 25-minute light aircraft connection hop to the Xigera airstrip (if you’re coming from Kasane airport, this journey will take around an hour and 20 minutes). A 10-minute drive will bring you to Xigera itself.
One of Africa's last truly wild places
Xigera lies on the aptly named Paradise Island, surrounded by deep channels and lush vegetation within a remote area of the productive Moremi Game Reserve.
