Chuma Maweni was born in Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape in 1976. In collaboration with Xigera Safari Lodge, Maweni created more than 70 unique pieces from black clay. This impressive assortment of expertly crafted pieces marks the largest collection of his work anywhere to date.

The Chuma Maweni Xigera design collection features stools, tables, pedestals, lamps and coffee sets, that can be found throughout the lodge and also within our Xigera shop. Each item is comepletly unique, utilising a wide range of patterns, shapes and distinctive colours.
