Ikalaheng (Ike) Mogalakwe


Head Safari Guide, Xigera Safari Lodge


Ikalaheng (Ike) Mogalakwe was born in Maun and he attended school for a part-time diploma in Accounting and Business studies at the University of Botswana. Whilst he was studying, he also worked at the Central Transport Organisation as a Senior Supplies Assistant.

After completing his studies, Ike began working in the tourism industry with Wilderness Safaris as a Trainee Manager and later as an Assistant Camp Manager. Later, he found his true calling and started training as a guide at King's Pool Camp. During this time, he completed a level one course on weapons proficiency and achieved his walking proficiency qualification.

Ike began working at CC Africa Expeditions, operating mobile safaris after completing an intense guide training course at Inkwazi Training Camp in South Africa. After years working with CC Africa, Ike worked as a freelance guide and manager in different companies throughout the Okavango and northern Botswana gaining extensive experience.

Ike joined Xigera Safari Lodge as Head Guide to take on the challenge of building a team and delivering the very best safari experience for all our guests.
